SSB JOINS ‘SKILL INDIA’ AND DIGITAL INDIA INITIATIVES, SIGNS MoU WITH NSDC & NSDF AND LAUNCHES “MySSB APP” TODAY
New Delhi – 10.03.2017- As a welfare measure for its serving/retired personnel and their family members and fulfilling its social responsibility towards border population, on 10.03.2017 Sashastra Seema Bal entered into a MoU with National Skill Development Corporation and National Skill Development Fund in presence of Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Shri Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Home in an event held at SSB FHQ, New Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Hon’ble Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship praised the initiative of SSB and expressed his confidence that while working on various provisions of MoU in letter and spirit SSB will not only be able to provide post retirement employment opportunities to its retiring personnel but also be able to skill family members of serving personnel and various sections of border population.
Smt. Archana Ramasundaram, IPS, Director General signed the memorandum of behalf of SSB whereas Shri Rajesh Agarwal, Joint Secretary, MSDE cum CEO, NSDF and Shri Mahish Kumar, CEO, NSDC were the signatories on behalf of NSDF and NSDC respectively.
During the event an android based and in house developed mobile application “MySSB” was also launched by Shri Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Home who lauded the efforts of Inspector (Ministerial) Gautam Basak in developing the application. He expressed the hope that SSB will continue keeping the welfare of its personnel on priority basis.
Earlier while welcoming the guests on the occasion Smt. Archana Ramasundaram, Director General appraised that after signing the MoU SSB will be able to provide gainful employment to the retiring/retired personnel of SSB in-order to facilitate resettlement through generation of second career option. The signing of MoU will establish a framework under which dependants of SSB personnel as well as locals, School dropouts, victims and potential victims of Human Trafficking will also be benefited directly in the area/region where SSB is deployed.
Presently, SSB has been deployed with its mandate to guard 1751 Kms of Indo-Nepal and 699 Kms of Indo-Bhutan Borders as well as deployed in the state of Bihar, Jharkhand & Chhattisgarh for ANO duties and in the state of J&K for CI Ops. Duties. Through this MoU the unemployed educated/uneducated youths will get an opportunity to adopt a course of their choice/earn their livelihood and plan their future.
Skill development training programme will be organised in collaboration with Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. Sectors like Apparel, Food Processing, Beauty and Wellness, Automotives, Security, Sports etc are given emphasis for the said programme.
DG SSB also apprised the dignitaries and other esteemed guests that the in-house android bases mobile application “MySSB” will cater to the general requirements and information of Force personnel i.e. accessibility to details of salary & allowance, GPF subscription, service particulars including posting profile, APAR etc.
In line with Hon’ble Prime Minister’s Digital India Campaign, it will provide digital solution in day to day functioning and bring about transparency in decision making.
It will also provide two way communications between Force personnel (both serving and retired) and senior functionaries and will act as a one stop solution for disseminating welfare measurers as well as receiving and redressing grievances for Force personnel. The historic event was witnessed by dignitaries from MHA, MSDC, NSDC, NSG and representatives of all the CAPFs.
