Director General, SSB Smt. Archana Ramasundaram, IPS who is on an official visit to Bhutan accompanied by Sh. Ashok Kumar Singh, IPS Inspector General (Ops & Int) SSB and Sh. Amit Kumar, Deputy Inspector General SSB from 16-19 June 2017, met H.E. Lyonpo Dawa Gyeltshen, Home Minister, Royal Government of Bhutan, Dasho Sonam Topgay, Home Secretary RGoB, Dasho Tashi Penjor, Director Department of Law & Order and Col. Chimi Dorji, Chief of Police.

DG, SSB made a courtesy call with Home Minister of RGoB which was followed by small presentation from SSB side. Home secretary RGoB, Chief of Bhutan Police and other officials were also present in the meeting. Issues of mutual concern were discussed. DG, SSB empathized that as the borders were open and porous between the two friendly nations, most of the border guarding operations had to be based on prompt sharing of inputs and good intelligence. She thanked the Royal Bhutan Force for their excellent co-operation to SSB. Hon’ble Home Minister of Bhutan was appreciative of the role played by SSB, especially the tough action taken by SSB in recent years resulting in putting an end to the kidnapping of Bhutanese national for ransom.  The Bhutan side assured its commitment for not allowing its territory to be used for activities inimical to the interests of India. A senior officer from the Indian Embassy at Thimpu was also present during meeting with Hon’ble Home Minister of Bhutan.

The Home Secretary, Royal Government of Bhutan hosted a dinner on 16th June 2017 in honour of DG, SSB Smt. Archana Ramasundaram.
